I love good food, and I love trying food from all over the world. Talullas is not only good food. It’s food true to its Turkish culture. Last night I had dinner there and was sitting next to a couple that had their beautiful lamb chops. I’ve had them before they’re absolutely thick and delicious and yes, lamb chops are small, but their lamb chops are top-of-the-line, thick and juicy And flavorful! Nowhere else in the Triangle will you get lamb chops for $32! When I went back and read the review that the couple left, I was appalled. Not only did they lie about the price they paid, they complained. I overheard The woman waiting on them ask them as they were finishing their meal if everything was all right and they said yes. She even comped them dessert. I don’t understand how they could come back and write such a sad review that was full of lies. This restaurant is one of my all-time favorites in Chapel Hill. I’ve been to Turkey and their food is better than some. I ate there. The atmosphere is genuine and the service is amazing. I guess the world is full of sad people.

Authentic, delicious food! We’ve come for years, and we are always made to feel like family. 🩷 Our server, Bahadir, was excellent! He gave attentive service, taught us about the culture and was very entertaining as a bonus. We had wonderful experience and meal.

This family‑owned Turkish restaurant truly stands out in Chapel Hill. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with genuine warmth and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the bar area adds a nice touch if you want a drink before your meal. For two people, we ordered an entrΓ©e to share, main courses, alcoholic beverage, desserts, and traditional Turkish tea. Our total was around $100, and it felt absolutely worth it for the quality, flavor, and portion sizes. (They gave us complimentary Turkish flat bread and traditional sauce to dip it) The service was exceptionalβ€”our food came out surprisingly fast, and staff checked on us often without being intrusive. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Highly recommend make a reservation. We were lucky to find a table for a walk-in. Right place to dine-in if you are craving real Turkish cuisine and warm hospitality.

One of the best spots on Franklin Street! Whenever I crave authentic food, I come to Talullas with my friends. The atmosphere, food, and service are always top-notch everything you want in one place. I usually come on Fridays or Saturdays for their special Iskender dish, which never disappoints. The salads, tea, and especially the kazandibi dessert are absolutely amazing. If you are looking for something unique and truly authentic, this is the place. I will definitely keep coming back!

It is easily the best dining experience on Franklin Street and likely the best in all of Chapel Hill. I highly recomend this place to anyone traveling and searching for authentic Turkish cuisine. The food is lovingly and thoughtfully prepared. The service staff treats you like family, and it's clear that the business is also family owned. I came in on a Tuesday with a friend to have drinks and a few bites to eat when I say they kept the kitchen open for 45 minutes after close to accommodate us. This level of courtesy is something I have never experienced anywhere. This restaurant deserves your patronage and support. Get the lamb, and there's a sauce it's red and oregano and garlic based. Get it too. If you see me at the bar I'll take a glass of any red because the wine game is fire. You're welcome.
